We were thrilled to participate in the NewSpace Flashbuild, alongside DeltaV, BLUEsat, SpaceOps, and TechConnect Global. This launch was also supported by Garlo's Pies, hence the literal pie in the sky!
Our goal on this launch was to grab some images of the ground. As such, we placed a camera on the balloon, and pointed it downwards. Using the data from this first launch, we plan to create an algorithm capable of generating valuable insights from this image data. This algorithm will then be run on the balloon itself on a future launch, and transmitted back. This approach is commonly known as Edge Computing, which enables reduced data usage and increases the speed of decision making. We'll be repeating this approach with our satellites as well.
